Our staff at The Bariatric Care Center is comprised of a multidisciplinary team of specialists in their field. They include:

  • A Bariatric trained board certified surgeon

  • Nutritionists
  • Behavioral health specialists 
  • Well educated and dedicated nursing staff, certified nurse assistants and technicians specializing in the care of  bariatric patients

 Harold Kent, M.D.

Roxanne L. Turturro, MSW, LCSW                                                                                                                                                            Licensed Clinical Social Worker


Roxanne received her Master’s degree in clinical social work from Syracuse University in 1996, and her Bachelor’s in science and social work in 1995 from Syracuse as well.  Since that time she has worked as a clinical social worker in diverse clinical settings in the United States for both military and civilian communities.  She has provided individual, family, child, adolescent, marital, and group therapy for various populations struggling with life’s challenges.  Roxanne has developed and taught programs for children, adolescents and adults to increase pro-social behaviors, coping skills and self-awareness. She is actively involved with our program to help patients positively transition, both psychologically and behaviorally, through the changes associated with this lifelong journey.

 
Jackie Carr, RD, LD
Registered Dietician
 

Jackie graduated from Viterbo University in Wisconsin with a bachelor’s of science in community and medical diatetics and a minor in sociology. She and her team of registered dieticians see our patients while they are in the hospital. Jackie discusses the nutrition plan and food choices with each patient to ensure understanding and compliance. Jackie coordinates her educational information with the surgeon’s office to reinforce what has been taught pre-operatively to each patient.
 
Greg Cox, Ph.D
Psychologist
 

Greg earned his Ph.D. training at University of Louisville. His career has been consistently involved with medically related psychology, and he has worked with patients suffering neurological difficulties (strokes, head injuries, and spinal cord injuries), chronic pain and a variety of co-occurring medical disorders. He has extensive experience in psychological assessment, diagnosis, treatment, training, and presentation. Greg's work is now focused on bariatric psychology, providing each patient with psychological support to increase his or her success with weight-loss surgery. He is joined in practice by Dr. Betsy Ryland, clinical psychologist. She has been involved with our bariatric program for several years working with patients and teaching the Healthy Eating weekend workshop.
 
Russell Moan, BSEP 
Exercise Specialist
  

Russell graduated from Valdosta State University in 2006 with a Bachelors of Science degree in exercise physiology. He is certified by the American College of Sports Medicine as an exercise specialist. Russell provides the patient education and on-site exercise oversight for our patients participating in the Feel In Tune (FIT ) program.
